How Distance Training by Independent Study Works

Lean Six Sigma Academy LLC has been delivering Lean Six Sigma training online "at a distance" since first quarter '2000. That's two full years before ASQ or any college/university could even spell "six sigma"!  Lean Six Sigma Academy LLC was the first Lean Six Sigma training provider to offer training online. Lean Six Sigma Academy online Lean Six Sigma training follows the six sigma master/black/green belt "body of knowledge" and the chapter sequence of the course textbook, Implementing Six Sigma, by Forrest Breyfogle III. Certification is granted by Lean Six Sigma Academy LLC at successful completion of the course without exam. Certification is granted based upon the extensive "body of work" that is accomplished throughout the training program and is kept on file.

Lean Six Sigma training online using the Internet for distance delivery of Lean Six Sigma Green Belt for health care, Lean Six Sigma Green Belt for general industry, and for all industries: Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt and Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) training programs. Each online training program includes: the distance training course syllabus, problem assignments list, Lean Six Sigma Academy Six Sigma Black Belt software tools, and reasonable 24/7 e-learning support from your personal Lean Six Sigma Academy Certified Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt Instructor.

Lean Six Sigma Academy LLC grants certification to participants upon successful completion of the Lean Six Sigma training program. Each distance training program requires the participant to submit assigned problems to the Instructor for evaluation. The Lean Six Sigma Green Belt training online distance program does not require completion of a Lean Six Sigma improvement project (although it is encouraged). The Lean Six Sigma Black Belt training program and the Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt training programs require the completion of one Lean Six Sigma improvement project or a research/term paper on a Lean Six Sigma topic. The project may have been completed recently or is planned and executed along with the training. Participants may request a waiver of the Lean Six Sigma improvement project requirement and may substitute a Lean Six Sigma topic term paper in it's place. Participants are granted certification and receive a digital pdf 8 x 10 certificate suitable for wall mounting. The participants "body of work", including all problem assignments and the Lean Six Sigma project final report or term paper are maintained on file for a period of time as objective evidence of having met certification requirements. No final exam is required. The distance training programs include Lean Six Sigma Black Belt software tools to assist the student in completing a few of the assigned problems. Minitab is not required. If the student wishes to use Minitab it is available at reduced rates, and can be downloaded for free for 30 days directly from Minitab.

IMPORTANT:  The participant does not need to complete the Lean Six Sigma Green Belt training program before entering the Lean Six Sigma Black Belt or the Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt training programs. The client may choose to begin training at any level desired.  The Lean Six Sigma Academy LLC Lean Six Sigma Black Belt training program includes Lean Six Sigma Green Belt training (in it's entirety). The Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt training program includes both the Lean Six Sigma Green Belt and the Lean Six Sigma Black Belt training (in it's entirety). Advanced placement is allowed for clients who already possess green belt or black level certification.

PREREQUISITE: The participant should have a real passion for process improvement, a strong motivation to learn the world's premier process improvement methodology, and be an independent/self-reliant learner.

• Placement of the graduate's name in the appropriate Lean Six Sigma Graduate Registry at the Lean Six Sigma Academy LLC company website.
