"Speed is life" in today's business climate. There is increasing pressure on companies to
develop and manufacture products faster and with increased value at
lower cost. The Six Sigma Partnering implementation of DFSS
enables companies to increase market share and improve margins by applying six
sigma DFSS methodology to new product development and manufacturing
processes. The distance Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) course guides
participants through the process of producing breakthrough
change that produces robust product designs and manufacturing
processes early on in the product life cycle.
Students learn and implement the DFSS process (Define, Measure,
Analyze, Design and Verify) by employing the methodology to
exercises in each chapter of the text. Six Sigma Partnering
Instructors are available on a reasonable 24/7 basis to provide
clarification or guidance.
What is
Design for Six Sigma (DFSS)?

The Six Sigma
Partnering Distance e-Learning option is fast becoming a preferred
popular route to achieving DFSS Black Belt certification. The Six Sigma
Partnering Distance DFSS e-Learning option allows the student the
flexibility of a self-study/self-paced alternative to traditional
training experiences. The student completes end of chapter
assignments. Upon
successful completion of the program requirements, certification is
granted.
The curriculum for the distance learning program follows the Six Sigma
text book, Design for Six Sigma by Geoff Tennant, and includes
the same information typically presented at live training sessions. To
learn more about the textbook and it's contents click on the textbook
icon at the bottom of this page. Six Sigma Partnering certification
programs follow the textbook chapters.
Student requirements: PC with email/Internet access, Windows 9x or
newer operating system, MS Office applications of Word and Excel. Six
Sigma Partnering provides the distance e-Learning course syllabus,
problem assignment list and reasonable 24/7 Instructor guidance. The
only program restriction is that the student is required to complete
the program within one year of fee payment. The typical student will
complete the DFSS Black Belt certification program in three to six months at a leisure pace.
Continuing education credit may be obtained through participation in
Six Sigma DFSS training. Please contact your local professional
society education or certification chairpersons for more information.
Students may obtain college credit if the course is approved by their
advisor under the independent study course category within the degree
program.
